Went on a day trip with my best friends to Olympic State Park, and decided to eat here for dinner. I like the ambience. It's dim, but not too dark. There are fun little painting and artifacts here and there. The food was great as well. Between the four of us, we ordered five entrees: Love basil stir-fry, massamun curry, phad thai, phad see-iew, and Thai fried rice. They were all delicious, but I was the most impressed by the curry and the stir-fry. I want to thank Sabai Thai Cuisine for making the end of our day bro trip a very bloated and delicious one.

Delicious! I had the basil noodle stir fried prawn and my wife had the Pad Thai prawn. Both were beautifully spiced a delicious. The service is very attentive and pleasant. Would definitely go back. Portions are generous. Interesting decor.

For a small town ethnic restaurant, this is just about as good as it gets. Although the service and ambience are fine, if a little quirky, it is the food that makes Sabai Thai go. For example, the curry we had was fine with a delicious light curry sauce and chunks of chicken, potatoes and vegetables. The special appetizer, an eggplant, onion, sweet chili concoction was created and top notch. Even the salad dressing was spot on. Someone knows how to cook Thai. Hint: it can get crowded, so make reservations.

Arrived in Port Angeles on a warm, sunny evening, and decided to try Sabai Thai based on the reviews here on Yelp. I wasn't disappointed. Very good Thai food and attentive service. Hi-lites were the I Love Basil, and the Mango Tango with prawns. Very flavorful, with good sauces and fresh ingredients, and everything was prepared perfectly. The care in preparation and presentation was evident in all the dishes we were served. Beer selection was good (the Blue Moon Belgian White was the perfect accompaniment). Highly recommend Sabai Thai. It's as good as it gets out on the Peninsula.

Perfect ending to a fabulous day on the Olympic Peninsula. Who would have thought I'd find amazing Thai food in Port Angeles? We met up with a Finnish friend of my South American exchange student and this was his recommendation. My two kids (ages 7 & 10), both exchange students and I inhaled every last bite. I might have to invent an excuse to return to the area just to have dinner there again. (We had the Spring Rolls & Happy Banana to start, Basil Noodles, Vegetable Pad Thai and one of the curries).

This place was quite an enjoyable experience. It was generally authentic and had a nice atmosphere. I had the phad thai while the others around me had the drunken noodles with shrimp. A note on the spicy rating. It seems to error on the side of caution as I ordered spicy and it was just a little heat. Next time I go I think I'll have to max the heat scale out....perhaps I might regret that but they have a good selection of beer to help put out any fires not to mention coconut milk!! HAHA! Look forward to visiting here again! Cheers.

Sabai Thai is just perfect in every respect. The location uptown and easy to find, the building is charming and cozy, and the food and and drink menu are exhaustive and leave nothing to be desired. Yet the one thing that amazed me the most was how fast the service really was. I have never had such a wonderful meal prepared and served so quickly and professionally. If there was one thing that I would change it would be to open for lunch so I could come more often!

I have eaten here many times in the past 5 years. It is the best Thai food we have ever eaten. The green curry is my husband's favorite. I love the "3 fish", angel prawns, and the 1/2 duck. All are outstanding. On a weekend you need a reservation.

After a long day of hiking, my boyfriend and I were ravenous. We went in for an early dinner straight from the Olympic National Park. We are from Seattle and eat Thai food frequently so we were excited to try a new place. FOOD: We ordered the prawn spring rolls as an appetizer. The spring rolls were perfectly simple and had a great sweet and sour sauce for dipping. For entrees, I got the green curry w/ chicken and my bf got the ginger chicken. My bf's dish was really good with just the right amount of ginger mixed with a lot of fresh veggies. Unfortunately, my green curry which I was very much looking forward to, was so-so. The coconut milk/curry ratio heavily favored the coconut milk, making the dish way too sweet for my liking. It could have used a lot more spice and curry. SERVICE: The service was extremely efficient and friendly. The only thing that led to a little confusion was HOW MANY people helped us...we actually didn't know who our server was...which is really odd for a small Thai restaurant. With that said though, they tended to all of our needs- it just wasn't extremely personal. OVERALL: If I were back in PA, I would definitely come back. They have an extensive menu and aren't as much of a tourist trap as a majority of the other restaurants in the area. The food was ok to good depending on the dish you order. The spice scale is on the mild side so I'd recommend ordering more stars than you normally would.

By far the Best Thai restraunt on the North Olympic Peninsula hands down! No matter what I order It is always cooked to my specifications and delicious. The serviced is fast and friendly and i never feel rushed. a good place to have an intimate dinner for two.

The most amazing Thai food I've ever eaten! Beautiful decor and lovely service as well.

I'm always wary of trying new thai places. They're always hit and miss, and never compare to a stint when I lived in Thailand. Sabai Thai hit the nail on the head! After taking the ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles we needed food to carry us forward for the drive to Seattle. WOW, WOW, WOW. First, I asked about the amount of fish sauce in our dishes, i'm not a fan of the flavor. The waitress kindly checked for us and reassured us they did not. The PrikPow and Cashew Chicken were amazing and hot. I swear we devoured our food in under 5 minutes, it was that good. I debated ordering everything on the menu to take home with me. Unfortunately, I don't live in the Pacific NW, or else I would've. We ended up grabbing a yummy Thai Coffee for the road. I want to take this place with me wherever I go. I heart Sabai Thai. kòp kun kah

Hands-down some of the best Thai food I have eaten! A real gem for PA - it lifts my perception of the town WAY up. The wait is long and I understand that they take reservations - which I would advise. Solid wine list, some nice specials and a well done but slightly funky atmosphere.

  • LG O.

I've had only one other experience with Thai food, and it was horrid, so when our dinner plans shifted to Sabai's, I was a bit concerned. I shouldn't have been. The atmosphere was delightful. The wait staff was considerate and intuitive and prompt. And the food was exquisite, with subtle favors, delicious to the taste, and pleasing to the eye. The menu was considerately detailed in telling which dishes had the potential for spice (or heat), and while I had a non-spicy stir-fry (delightful!), my friend had a bit of spice with her curry and it was perfect for her. I will be back--and bring my friends and family!

Ok, I'm from Hawaii, so I may be a bit spoiled when it comes to asian food, but seriously......my family insisted I try the crab fried rice, and I found it tasteless and very unlike true Asian-style fried rice. The other dishes I tried also missed the mark as far as I was concerned. Have their chefs ever tried real Asian food so they know what its supposed to taste like?

    (2)
  • Mary B.

The garlic halibut special was great. Instead of rice I got extra veggies. They have a cool fish tank too! It is a good 2 mile walk from the pier though.

Such nice people and atmosphere. Oh and the food is terrific too!

  • Rebecca R.

Sabai Thai was great! We had an Angel Prawn starter with a sweet chili sauce, Pineapple Curry and Thai fried rice for three people and it was delicious! We didn't wait for a table on a Saturday night and the food was to die for. Perfectly spiced and seasoned! We'll definitely be back for me!

My wife declares that this is the best Thai she has ever had. Wonderful and interesting foods, friendly and helpful servers, and nice atmosphere. The pineapple curry was super -- the fruity flavor mixing with the spicy curry made for a memorable meal.

This place is hands down the best Thai place I've eaten at in WA thus far. I've been there twice on visits out to Hurricane Ridge in ONP. The staff is always very attentive and the food is always fantastic. Lots of times when you go to Thai places they seem to always make the Phad Thai either too sweet or too spicy but this places has made it just right the both times I've been there. If you're out in Port Angeles, and in the mood for good Thai, go to this place!

  • Kat K.

Sabai Thai has great food, ambiance, and well is a bit pricey, but delicious! I have gone to several thai food joints in the past 10 years from Bellingham to San Francisco, and although I love my hole in the wall Sea Thai in Seattle on 45th. Sabai Thai is delicious. I try not to order the same thing each time I go, but I always seem to have any of there curries and there Pad See Ew... It's my favorite. Ice cream is more great, but it is more like a flavored Ice and way too large. Tried to share with two others and still too much. Delicious

  • Michael B.

Big time delicious Thai food. Spicy, sweet and savory eggplant dip with light crispy shrimp chips was awesome as a starter! Their Tom Ka Gai was really tasty, with a sweet, citrus edge that was addictive. I had their green curry with prawns and scallops. Very creamy, rich curry with assorted veggies and perfectly suited for the delicate seafood. Others all had the Garlic Halibut, which was raved about in other reviews. I thought the fish was definitely overcooked, and it was strewn about with the baby bok choy in a really terrific smelling sauce. Since it tasted so delicious, we let go about it being a little rubbery. My brother insisted that's how all Thai cook their fish. Big plus, their prices are really good for the quality of food you get here. Halibut was $16, Curry was $14 with four large sea scallops and prawns. Soup was a little spendy at $12, but really, no complaints besides the fish. Lovely interior, good service, really good wine and beer list and "yeah, I can afford that" prices make this place the best restaurant in PA, in this yelper's humble opinion.

Excellent service. This place is bigger than it looks on the outside, so don't be discouraged if the view from the street appears full. Also, do not be discouraged if you are a tourist coming from downtown and think you took a wrong turn. Keep on goin. Great Thai food, and their 'secret recipe' Thai tea is the best I've ever tasted.

Take out last night, here on business and staying in a motel...good but expensive for what it was. Large container with mostly the shells of the mussels---$18.something- no silverware in the bag...no napkin...nothing...would I return...no-

We ate here Monday, April 1, 2013. It was no April's Fool Day, this is a terrific restaurant. We were very hungry after a day of gardening and Discovery Trail bike riding. We arrived at 4:00pm. We were seated next to a fantastic salt water tank full of an immaculate coral reef with beautiful, colorful fish. We started the meal with the deep fried banana appetizer. YUM. My hubby relished the duck curry which was creamy and seasoned perfectly. I had the eggplant which was delicious. We had the leftovers for lunch the next day. I liked my glass of chardonnay. We will return to this place often.

while waiting for our food, my boyfriend's parents regaled us with a story about the time they went with friends for thai food back in connecticut and ended up with pad thai that tasted like simple syrup. so it is maybe, perhaps, vaguely, a liiiiiiittle bit possible that that colored our experience once the food arrived, and was freaking delicious and not at all like simple syrup. but i like to think that we are capable of eating with open minds, so forget all that before up there and just trust me when i say that the food (pad see-ew, spicy eggplant, chu chee pla and thai fried rice, specifically) rocks. to say nothing of the decor. (tip: look up)

Port Angeles.... You guys are so lucky having a restaurant like this. This is the kind of restaurant you would expect in San Francisco or NYC. OMG.... everything was so good. This place was only a few blocks from the vacation rental that we were at so we had to go there. I read the reviews but was thinking....come on....Port Angeles with a Great Thai place?? There were warnings about getting there early because it fills up. Being that it was a Monday I thought we could take our time... But usually yelp is right so we left and got there about 6pm. there were about 2 booths and a couple tables left. Within 15 minutes the place was full. We shared a chicken satay. The chicken was perfect. It was served with a peanut sauce and a sweet pickled cucumber and onion sauce... We ate it all. They had several specials. We decided to share a lamb curry so that we would have room for one of the deserts.....creme brulee!!! The curry was just great. We asked for mild seasoning and that was perfect. Note if you like your food really hot this only felt hot for a few seconds so you want the stronger levels. But it was perfect for us. The lamb came on the bone, cooked so tender that you could pull it off with a fork. Great curry sauce and also served with a side of sweet pickled cauliflower, carrots, and other vegetables. It all worked. We did have room for the creme brulee. They caramelize right before they serve it..... And guess what....it was great!!! Great service even though they were packed. We will be back.

We were in town visiting Grandma and Don and they had heard good things about the restaurant, but they hadn't been there before. To get them going and comfortable I ordered the crab Rangoon. Plumy sauce was super tasty, crab Rangoon was good, but the sauce was the stand out I think. As an entry to I had chicken panang curry, 5 star, Andrew had chicken phad see-iew, 3 star. It was very tasty and welcoming in PA. Grandma had pineapple fried rice with prawns and Don had the dungeness fried rice, both zero star. They liked it a lot and there was quite a bit of prawns and they liked both dishes. It was funny though, Grandma reached over to try my 5 star curry. NOOOO!! We stopped her in time. Andrew loved his dish and mine was really good too. Mine was super creamy. I just kept lapping up the curry sauce even though I was "done". The water was ready for us when we got there (I had a reservation) so it didn't have a lot of ice, but it was passable. Service ended up being a bit slow, getting the bill took quite awhile. For PA I am definitely a fan and going back when in town.

I guess I'm not the first to be floored by Sabai Thai located in gritty Port Angeles... The food was delicious! This was an upscale dinner affair. Babe and I arrived right around 5 and were the first people in there. By 6 o clock, the place was absolutely packed! Every table was filled. This is Port Angeles! Crazy. He loved the leg of lamb that fell right off the bone into a delicious puddle of excellent and complex green curry with coriander and basil. I was inspired by the Swimming Rama, a heaping pile of baby spinach immersed in a spicy, tangy pool of soy sauce and peanut sauce... with a heaping portion of crisp and fresh veggies... this was heaven! mmm didn't have room or spending money for much else. would definitely go back, the menu is huge... creative but classic... just pricey!

Upon the recommendation of our motel host, we went to Sabai Thai for dinner while on a trip around Hwy 101. I was pleasantly surprised to find this solid Thai restaurant in what could only be descrived as the least likely place I would expect. The interior decor was warm and pleasant with the traditional soft music and giant 52 gallon fish tank with coral and vibrant fish. The tables, linens and chairs were all well done and comfortable and the wait staff was quite pleasant with lots of smiles and very accomodating. Being on the small side and heading in on a Friday around 8:30pm we waited only a moment before being seated at a window table. Our drink order (great beer and wine list) was taken and shortly thereafter our cute little waitress was over to take our dinner order. We opted for two types of curry. The Emerald Curry (Green) with chicken and extra vegetable and a Red Curry with chicken. What can I say, we both like curry and chicken :-) The green curry was spiced very well and had the traditional eggplant, bamboo, carrots and various other tasty vegetalbes. The red curry was velvet smooth with a mild savory spice and had a nice little touch of pineapple added to the mixture for a great taste. I highly recommend both. Being from Seattle and having had "life-changing" curry, I couldn't quite give Sabai the top of the charts, but this place is a solid Thai experience with wonderful people and what I'm sure is a grateful following in PA.

My calamari salad was way Americanized, consisting of mostly lettuce steeping in wet lime dressing. The rest of the vegetable and noodle dishes were good though, and being just a visitor, I have a feeling this is the best of Port Angeles.

Great find in Port Angeles! If you're looking for a nice local restaurant and you like Thai, Sabai Thai is definitely a great choice. As someone else noted, it is in a bit of a weird location, right in the middle of a residential area. However, the food was great. Dungeness crab fried rice was delicious!

  • Erik O.

Some of the best Thai food we've ever enjoyed. And incredibly fast service. Pleasant ambience, and very professional staff. Just a wonderful experience all around. The only problem is it's 2000 miles from our home. And don't miss the fresh mango and sticky rice. That, along with the Panang Curry and Phad See-Iew were awesome.

Great Thai food - one of the very best meals you will find on the Peninsula. The service is usually excellent (we've had a couple of moments where it was so bad I felt sorry for the owners) decor is beautiful, facinating fish tank, perfect food... My husband loves the Happy Banana starter, and we both love the yellow curry (last time with scallops - excellent), swimming rama, all the soups, and the spicy eggplant. Beautiful presentation of food too... you definitely feel like you would be paying a lot more, but the prices are very reasonable.

Sabai Thai is a real diamond in the rough. The food standards here are excellent and would hold up against any Thai restaurants in New York, Chicago and other great city known for epicurean delights. Located in a predominantly residential part of town, it doesn't really call attention to itself, but the food is well worth the trip. The menu incorporates both local and other fresh seafood, and I particularly enjoy the Dungeness crab fried rice. You can choose to have your meat or fish prepared to order in a variety of different curries and spices, or choose one of the many specialties. Great starters include the tom yum and spring rolls, or a satay served with an excellent peanut sauce with a small container of a cucumber salad in a light vinegar dressing. My favorite dishes are the emerald chicken curry and the aforementioned rice, along with the spicy calamari stir-fried with an assortment of asian vegetables. Mango tango is also a favorite and frequent special on offer. I usually enjoy having either the hot tea or the iced Thai tea, sweet, milky and addictive. Port Angeles is lucky to have two good Thai restaurants but Sabai Thai is clearly the best.

Amazing Thai food! This is a must try if you are in or visiting the Sequim/Port Angeles area. We have even driven 2 hours from our home on a nice summer day to have dinner at Sabai Thai. It is that good! This is the best Thai restaurant around. The service is wonderful. We look forward to our next visit.

I have eaten a lot of Thai food all over this country, and Sabai Thai is far and away the best I've ever had. I have tried almost everything on the menu at this point, and one can never go wrong there. I especially recommend the curries.

  • Daniela H.

OK, I have only been here a few times, but out of all the Thai restaurants I have been to over the years, in various countries, this is the best, by far. Unusual dishes. The flavours are incredible. I love the octupus salad, and the Mango Tango. The leg of lamb in curry sauce seemed like an unusual find - delicious, the meat falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. Nice atmosphere. Only flaw is their location. Wish they were closer :).

In Port Angeles, there isn't much ethnic food, except for this lovely place. We ate here three different nights during our week exploring Olympic National Park and its surroundings. Having spent a month in Thailand, this restaurant was the closest thing we'd had to real Thai food since Thailand. It was amazing and so tasty. The menu is large and the portions can be shared, but it's so reasonably priced that you can get a lot of food and still not break the bank. Great atmosphere and our daughter loved the fish tank! Happy, kind staff too! We'll be eating here whenever we're back in the area.

  • Becky C.

Beautiful atmosphere, you won't find a prettier restaurant in Port Angeles, no exaggeration. Extremely attentive wait staff. The food was about as good as it gets. Ordered the pad thai, and I'm going to admit, parts of it were burnt, but the meals of the rest of the people in my group, and the parts of my food that weren't more than made up for it and all potential future trepidations. I'd go here again in a heart beat and would recommend it highly.

The best Thai Food in the NW. I travel Washington and Oregon for business, and this is hands down the best Thai food I have found. Their Panang Curry with scallops is the best! The scallops are cooked to perfection!!!!!

Great Thai food in Port Angeles? I was certainly surprised by this find. I came here for dinner after a long day of snow shoe-ing. Maybe my sense of taste was enhanced by extreme hunger but I definitely inhaled my drunken noodles (pad kee mao). I have tried this same dish in many cities (Boston, Baltimore, Seattle, Mountain View) and the dish at Sabai Thai was definitely among the best I've ever had.

We've had a lot of Thai food before from all over the U.S., but this little gem in Port Angeles was the best we've ever had. My wife's pad woon sen and my pad Thai were the best we've ever had. Too bad we live in the east coast or we'd be back all the time.

one of the best Thai food I have ever been to. Ordered Pineapple fried rice and curry duck (Yes, I was very hungry at that time), they are amazing. Food in Port Angeles are really great. You can see tons of places with 4+ rating.

  • Lauren L.

I love Thai food. It's in my top 3 for favorite cuisine. That said, I've had a LOT of Thai food. And I'm super picky about it. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST! I actually cry a little inside realizing I won't be going back anytime soon since we went here while on vacation. Their green curry was out of this world. Perfect blend of sweet from the coconut milk with the spiciness of the green curry. And so many veggies! I'm a vegetarian and often there's not much in the way of vegetables in curries. The owner was so great helping me decide and I was not disappointed. The whole time we were eating I couldn't even speak or hold a conversation with my boyfriend because the food was so good. TOO good, in fact. We had ginger ice cream with real chunks of ginger in it. Oh my god. And the banana appetizer (which I would normally peg as a dessert item) had a sauce that made it anything but! It was a strong contender with the other more traditional appetizer options. If you're in the area- put this spot on your list!

Based on a lot of Yelp and Trip Advisor reviews, we decided to give this place a try. My background in eating/dining is living in Hawaii and exposed to a lot of Asian cuisine, which includes all manner of Thai foods...that said, Sabai Thai did not disappoint, but I felt the flavors were muted to match the local palate (sweet, less spices). The Calamari Salad was presented nicely but the squid was cold and almost raw and crunchy and the salad dressing was too sweet without any appreciable tang that I am used to; the server graciously zapped my calamari in the microwave after I complained that the it was too raw but the cloying sweetness remained. What they did get right was my request for Thai hot. If you know what that means, it goes beyond normal hot..it's Thai hot, baby!. If I had my way, the dressing would have had more fish sauce and lime and less white sugar...it was too sweet and not savory, which is weird for a calamari salad. I didn't care for it. My son wanted fried rice but I inquired about peanut oil and they said yes, they do use it. My son's allergic but they went the extra mile and fried the rice with olive oil. It was OK, a bit on the soggy side but olive oil does have a lower burning point than peanut oil. The Thai Iced Coffee was brought out in a glass and not in a coffee press that I am accustomed to but it was refreshing but not very strong. If I had ordered more curry dishes maybe I would have been more impressed but for the most part the service and ambiance were spot-on. Parking was across a busy street in a residential area across from a school.

My boyfriend and I came for dinner the day before. After waited 1 hour to get the table, it didn't make me feel worth it. First, the service is not friendly. We ordered 1 appetizer and 2 entrées. We waited half hour just got appetizer and another half hour finally got the entrées. It's ruined our vacation mood completely! Second, the dishes are not that good. We came from Houston, it even not able to compare with the average. Finally, when we asked for togo box and 1 box rice, the burned rice is hiding below. Such a terrible restaurant I have ever seen! Specially if you are not WHITE! People don't respect you is not worth to be respected!

  • Liz W.

We're big Thai fans, and we absolutely hit the mark with Sabai Thai. We opted to start with the Rangoons (light and delicious), and for mains we chose the Garlic Halibut & Mango Tango Prawn & Mango/Vegetable stir fry. Both were super flavorful, and just spicy enough. They covered the spectrum from hot/peppery (Halibut) & sweet/tangy (though not overly so). To top it all off, the staff were a delight. We'll definitely be back.

Fairly large Thai place in Port Angeles. Very nice ambiance, lots of seating. Service is very attentive and friendly. I had the kafir lime fried rice with prawns for $13.95. It was a good sized portion with 6 large shrimp, and it had a lot of good flavor. The server asks how spicy you want it, and my medium spicy came out with the perfect amount of heat. My husband had the pad seeuw, which was very flavorful and perfectly seasoned for medium spicy. Very good Thai food and great service--definitely a must if you're in the area!

I had dinner at Sabai Thai on very strong reviews from both Yelp and TripAdvisor, and I was not disappointed. PROS: -Delicious curry. -Efficient service. -Clean. Waitresses clean down the tables very well. -Nice ambience and decor all over the walls/ceilings. CONS: -Pricier than other typical Thai restaurants.

Food is out of the world! Loved the basil noodles and the Garlic stir fries. Both of them had really awesome flavors . undoubtedly one of the best Thai dinners I ever had.

The coconut soup and Thai tea were the best I've ever had in my life. Pad Thai was not to my liking, but I am still craving that soup, which is a problem for me since I live across the country! Crab fried rice was delicious as well. Definitely give it a try!

I had dinner at Sabai Thai after looking at TripAdvisor and yelp reviews. The servers were all very friendly however the service was slow. Parking was convenient. Appetizer: Springs rolls. They were okay however lacked salt and flavor. The peanut sauce somewhat added flavor. Drinks: Plum and Dessert wine. The wine tasted great, perfect with food. I highly recommend it however my glass had bug floating on top so beware and look inside your glass before you take a sip! Main course: Phad thai and yellow curry. The food tasted great. Lots of flavor! I would definitely recommend mild flavor if you can't handle spicy at all. I usually order medium everywhere however their medium was bit too spicy for me too.

If you are around this area of Washington, stop in and give it a try. We all loved it. After hiking hurricane ridge area, we drove here for dinner. Everyone cleared their plate. The food was cooked well and the sauces and spices were perfect.

100% agree with Lauren L. recent review. Also on vacation we had dinner here Saturday night. After the following day spent hiking in Hoh rainforest my wife was elated when I suggested we go to Sabai again for dinner, for a second day in a row. She nearly cried when we pulled up and found them closed on Sundays. Best Thai we've ever had.

We had the eggplant dip for appetizer, garlic halibut and green curry with prawns for main course. All are really flavorful. They brought our curry to the wrong table at first, so our order was remade. Because of the mistake, they didn't charge us the curry and we got a yummy complimentary dessert, sweet coconut rice with mango. Their service hasn't been quite attentive, maybe due to lack of staff, but I am happy with our two free dishes.

The lady at the front desk recommended this place for diner. It was the best Thai food we've ever had. It had beautiful decor inside and out. They have a great little table game (cards) that sparked some great dialog with my date. We'll definitely come back every time We're in Port Angeles.

First time to Sabai Thai. The food was delicious, we had the garlic halibut and yellow curry. The flavors were amazing, no leftovers! ! The angel prawns for the appetizers were yummy too! I would definitely go here again.

The best; every meal I have had at Sabai Thai has been flawless, perfectly seasoned and visually pleasing- the ambiance is special, the lighting is comfortable, the tables well spaced, the booths are ideal for groups. I have gone to Thai restaurants all over the West Coast and the Southwest, this one, is by far has the most mouth-watering, decadent food I have come across. This is where the locals go, it gets very busy and sometimes there is a line to get seated, its always worth the wait. Favorites: Basil Noodle, Spicy with Beef, Crying Tiger, Massaman Curry, Emerald Curry, Swimming Rama...Thai Coffee!

This place is west of town on 8th, so it took me awhile to find it. Delicious thai food with flavor! Good prices, great service and they use local seafood.

Thought that I would try this place as my last meal for 2014 and so far big mistake! The place was super busy and they kept seating 2 tops over me since I was alone! The Dungeness Crab Rangoon should have been called cream cheese puffs as there was no crab at all which was a real shame considering Port Angeles says they are the Dungeness Crab Capitol! The Shrimp Pad Thai was way over-sauced with more of a soy flavor than a peanut sauce! I am graciously giving them three stars on because the service was good and the shrimp was perfectly cooked!

Quiet, music turned down low, good atmosphere, excellent service and great food. Sweet Duck Curry was awesome. I like the drink glass with a small carafe on the side, so you don't go without. Had prawns and chicken satay appetizers, nice having a variety of sauces.

Oh my gosh! SO expensive, but SO delicious!! Green Thai Curry is my first "test" dish, and Pud Si Ew my second. I ordered both my first and only time eating there (I don't live close by). The green curry was not the best I've ever had, but I can hardly blame them since I'm quite particular. But it was still very, very good with very balanced flavors which i think is extremely important in a curry. Though it could have been mediocre, it was NOT because they added a ton of seasonal vegetables and perfectly prepared tofu. I've never chosen the tofu option before but took the recommendation of the waitress. She was totally right and I have a new protein in my green curry preference. If you are a fan of Pud Si Ew (wide noodles), order that instead. Their version is hands down the best I have ever had in my life. I don't know what they did to that dish, but it tasted complex and caramelized. It was a good, good day! I can't wait to go back someday and try my third test dish, Tom Kha!

Best Thai food in the U.S. Period. Excellent curries, beautiful combinations of flavors, and well worth a detour. Aquarium is also cool.

A lot of people say that this is the 'best' Thai food they've ever had, but I beg to differ. Their food is really great, but it's not as awesome as everyone else claims to be. I ordered masaman curry, but it was wayyyyy too sweet. My husband ordered the duck and it was a bit overcooked and tough to chew. The rice was also a mush one of the nights we dined. What I like is consistency and this place seems to lack a little in that area. But all in all, a nice place to dine!

Delicious. Everything was delicious. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. Friendly fast service. Nice interior. They customize the spiciness to your tastes. What we had- Starters: Happy banana Crab Rangoon Entrees: BBQ thai chicken. Royal Duck curry (this has huge tasty chunks of fresh coconut in it) Pineapple fried rice. Swimming rama (with prawns). Very saucy.

If you find yourself having to wait for a table, be patient. You won't be sorry. The food here is amazing. I can't pick a favorite dish here, because they are all delicious, but my family and I usually find ourselves sharing the crispy duck quite often.

Best Thai food on the Peninsula and possibly the state! I have eaten here 4-6 times and have never been disappointed. Quality food, great service, nice ambiance. Often take guests to Sabai. Never a disappointment, except when they are closed as necessitated by trips to Thailand.

Sabai was great. Thai food is my favorite and I really enjoy trying new places and comparing them. I had the duck curry and it was incredible. The cherry tomatoes were an odd addition though and I usually ask for a fairly spicy dish and it could have stood to be a little hotter. The duck was perfectly cooked. We went for three courses. For an appetizer we had the spring rolls that came with a great peanut sauce. My boyfriend had the massaman curry which he said was better than our favorite spot in Portland. For desert we had crème brûlée, I know, odd for a Thai restaurant but it was delicious. The ginger tea is a must.

Amazing food every time I go here. I live in Sequim, so this is a treat for us when we make it into the west side of Port Angeles. Service is fast and friendly. Food is consistent. Decor and ambiance are spot on. Also, major kudos to the amazing fish tank which greets everyone at the front door. Only down side it is a little on the pricey side. Otherwise nothing negative to say.

This place is as good as the reviews! Ambiance was very nice...menu extremely diverse...everything we had was fantastic and flavorful. Calamari was tender and delicious....noodle and rice dishes rival any other place on either coasts where we have eaten...and the staff was very attentive. There was a wait but it moved quickly and was well worth it! Highly recommend!

I took my mom here who thought she hated thai food. By the end if the meal she was in love with the food. She had the Red curry with rice and was blown away by how much flavor the dish carried. It's almost a bad thing how yummy the food is because you don't want to stop plowing the food in your mouth!

My wife and I came here for dinner one Saturday, and I would definitely recommend calling ahead or making a reservation before you come. It was packed and we had to wait a bit for a table to open up. We started with spring rolls, which were somewhat disappointing. There was not as much filling as I would hope, but the dipping sauces were decent. I ordered the green curry with beef, 3 out of 5 stars spiciness. Granted, my tolerance for spicy foods is rather high, but the 3 out of 5 was hardly spicy at all. I was expecting a little more. The flavors were not impressive, either. The beef was a little tough, but there was a good amount of veggies mixed in. My wife ordered a salmon dish, which was supposedly a special for that day. The portion size was pretty small, and the salmon was somewhat dry. The service, however, was good, and the restaurant itself is nice. For around this area, I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of the better restaurants, especially of Thai food. But to be objective, this was only so-so Thai food. We were in the mood for Thai, so it worked out well. But the 4.5 star rating may be a little misleading.

A hidden gem in Port Angeles. Had seafood based dishes and was not a bit disappointed. The Andaman Pearl was amazing.. frest straigght from the ocean ingredients and the sauce was to die for. Very classy looking place too, which I didn't expect at all. Def worth a dekho if you are in the vicinity or have gone to see Hurricane Ridge.

Sabai Thai has to be the best Thai restaurant in Port Angeles, WA. I love their crab rangoon appetizer and their curries; but everything they make is delicious and the staff are always friendly and attentive. Their food presentation is attractive and portion size is adequate but not too large. This establishment is great for either date nights, or a solo meal to yourself. Some of the best dishes I recommend are: 1) Tom Kha Soup (with chicken) 2) Panang Curry with Scallops 3) Chu Chee Talay (curried Seafood Mixture) 4) Dungeness Crab fried rice You can tell that they take pride in their food and business and the prices seem fair and decent for the quality of food they provide.

Found Sabai while exploring our new home town and so happy to have gone in. Great curry and pad thai and even though we had to ask for to-go boxes, still had to share coconut sticky rice w/mango for dessert. Delish food, very pleasant staff. Will become regulars for sure.

After conquering a 6-mile hike at Olympic National Park, we decided that we needed a heavy, filling dinner to replenish all of the energy we expended that afternoon. Yeah, I am not one of those people who can eat a sports bar after a long hike and feel full, so go away. With more than enough Thai restaurants to last me a lifetime around Seattle, Sabai Thai did not hit me at first to be a restaurant I would want to try. The only reason we decided on this restaurant was because they opened the earliest for dinner (4:00 PM), whereas other restaurants opened at 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM. My appetite could not wait. Of course, we got there at exactly 4:00 PM and they already had their doors opened. We were greeted by pleasant and prompt service, but we were the only ones there at the time, so who knows. I was pleased, in any case. The restaurant is well-decorated with a lot of elephant figurines and wood work. I liked their silverware because it had a loop at the end that resembled a pig's tail. We ordered the Emerald Curry with seasonal mixed vegetables, and the Roasted Duck Curry that is cooked with a red curry sauce. Some of the photos posted on their page here is deceiving because they are seasonal specials and not on the regular menu. The Roasted Duck Curry is on the specials menu. Both of the entrees did not disappoint. Everything was super fresh and not at all heavy-handed with the cream or coconut milk. It was perfect. Sometimes I get tired of the same old vegetables that are in Thai curries: bamboo shoots, mushrooms, bell peppers, and basil. Ugh, bland. If I wanted to bore myself to death with food, I could do it from my own kitchen. For the Emerald Curry, they gave me some of the best mixture of vegetables I've ever had at a restaurant. It had bok choy, broccoli, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, egg plant, and more. I also ordered it not spicy, and it came out exactly the way I wanted. I'd highly recommend the Roasted Duck Curry while you can get it. The duck is already cut into pieces for you, so you don't have to get in to a fist fight with the bones. The duck is tender and cooked in a red curry sauce with a pretty wide range of vegetables, as well. For presentation purposes, they made swirls with some coconut milk and that made look dish extra appetizing. Five stars for how this restaurant exceeded all expectations, especially in a small town like Port Angeles. Mark this place as your next go-to restaurant after a visit to Olympic National Park or whenever you're in the area.

We have gone numerous times for dinner here in early evenings without a reservation. We were seated promptly, but by the time we left, it was getting very busy and the tables were scarce. If you are arriving after 6pm, call for a reservation. This restaurant is better than any other Thai restaurants I have tried here in USA. The service was perfect, being attentive but not overly annoying. They made a wonderful Tom Yum Gai soup. If you have enough room for dessert, the Sticky Rice with Mango is a classic that is just right.

Oh yeah! 10+ baby! I've eaten here frequently in the 3+ years I've lived here. Very clean, rather romantic place. The staff are very friendly and the food has always been consistently great!! I look forward to many more great meals from here in the future. P.S. the fish tank there is amazing!!

Likely good for the Peninsula but nothing but a decent dinner. The Tom Kha was way too sweet, heavy on the coconut milk, and had no lime to speak of. The Tom Yum was better, but still lacked on the lime. Our Pad See Ew was great, but it wasn't traditional. First off it had random mushrooms. Secondly, the sauce was flavored by the mushrooms and resembled more of a blackbean sauce. I couldn't taste any garlic or vinegar, so it wasn't even close. The dish was definitely great, just not Pad See Ew. Maybe I'm spoiled living my a plethora of Thai restaurants in any given direction along the I-5 corridor.

I loved the yellow curry. A group of friends and I went there the other day after we got done playing disc golf. Some of my friends have been there already and kept telling us how great it was. We all tried each other's meal and I can say that I liked most of them. Next time I will need to get my yellow curry a little more spicy though. Will definitely be back again some time.

Simply put, I consider this the best restaurant in Port Angeles. Perhaps a different place could offer a one-time meal that exceeds it, but for consistently outstanding food and service Sabai Thai is my choice. I've never had a bad experience. Their menu is large with a great variety of tempting dishes. They tend to specialize in prawns, but you can certainly substitute other meats or tofu. In fact, they are flexible with turning a basic dish into whatever you want or need (my son likes stir-fry but doesn't like "sauce" for example). I could rattle of some specific dishes but basically it's all been good. Really! If you're in Port Angeles and like Thai food, GO TO SABAI THAI. 'Nuff said.

Most amazing Thai experience ever (I'm not well traveled and from Montana). Food...spicy calamari was amazing. Service...multiple pleasant servers offered suggestions, yet were patient without rushing. Atmosphere...relaxing and just what was needed. The experience is not expensive...rather it is well worth every penny.

I really enjoyed dinner here. The four dishes we shared were all prepared with great care and they all exhibited great depth of flavor. The dining room was attractive and clean (as were the restrooms). The staff was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Wanted something other than the typical NW cuisine we'd been eating on our vacation, and Thai was it. Really nice restaurant and great food. 4 of us shared the Spring Rolls (very good), one friend had the best Pad Thai I think I've ever tasted, another had the Thai BBQ chicken which he said was very good, and hubs and I shared the Crispy Duck (didn't taste a bit of fat) and the Emerald Curry with prawns. We ordered that specifically for the eggplant, but there really weren't that many so while that was disappointing the dish was very good. Add a few beers and we had a great meal.

Good solid Thai place. Got the fresh king salmon curry and it did not disappoint. However, we ordered Jasmine tea (strangely not listed on the menu) and what came out was most definitely not Jasmine. Could have been generic herbal, but, and I say this with certainty...it was not Jasmine. Waitress insisted she took it out of a box labeled "Jasmine". Um...ok, but that doesn't make it Jasmine. We sent it back after just one taste. Then it shows up on our bill. Poor form.

Our first visit here was right after they first opened, when the proprietors were still working part-time at a local B&B. The food was then, and is now absolutely amazing! We recently stopped in again after a few years away and everything was absolutely delicious! You can't go wrong with anything at Sabai Thai!

This is a cozy restaurant with a nice menu, wine list, and pretty good food. I won't go as far as to say it's amazing, but we did have a very nice meal here. My girlfriend and I ordered the angel prawns to start, simple prawns wrapped in won ton and deep fried then served with a sweet and sour chili sauce. We got four for about five dollars. They were nice. We ordered a bottle of Australian Shiraz for about twenty five dollars, it was a good choice with the food. The server was helpful and attentive. We shared a couple of entrees, the Buddha, a chicken stir fry and a special that had prawns and rice noodles. Both entrees were petty good. They both ran about fifteen dollars, give or take. I think the total bill was about sixty five dollars. Again, it was a nice meal in a cozy little Thai place. You will enjoy it, but I personally do not think it is amazing or five star worthy...it's honestly about three and a half.
